Summer update
Shocked by the fact that my last blog entry was two weeks ago this is kind of an update. It is not that I have been particularly busy the last couple of days - simply there was loads of stuff to do so I was barely at home. What stuff to do you ask? Hmm.... hanging out with friends after work, meeting my brother for dinner at Andino which is a brilliant South American Restaurant with a lovely garden terrace, inviting friends over to my place for a burger dinner that I cooked together with Sidi who visited from Frankfurt, going for beers with Gregor and Christine at Steindl (which is becoming our local), chatting with Birgit at Villa Aurora just outside and above Vienna, hanging out with Käthy and friends at Donauinsel and flying the kite and swimming in the Danube ... there would be lots of things that I could add to the list....
Currently I am in Salzburg enjoying summertime outside the big town - just getting ready for taking a short ride into Germany and going for a swim at Thumsee which is one of the most beautiful little lakes I know (check the picture). Next weekend will be a Vienna weekend followed by some more Salzburg weekends (my brother Mikes birthday and the birthday of 3 friends who party together...)
Before getting ready for the swimming I would like to share two good books and music stuff that I recently read/listened:
Books
The boy in the striped pajama by John Boyne
Although I thought I am already fed up with literature in this regard I just soaked up the book within one day... a page turner
Things the grandchildren should know by Mark Oliver Everett
A brilliant book about the life of Mr. E from the Eels. Fascinating to get an insight on how weird and difficult the life of this musician is and was. I have only read it halfway through so far ....
Music
my current summer tunes include songs from the following artists: Jack Penate, Eels, Band of Horses, Hot Chip, Orishas, The Ark
