Skiing in 2009

Compared to last year I already managed to get on the slopes a bit. After having had some wonderful hours skiing in Bad Aussee before being on the hut for New Year I paid Neil and Caitlin a visit in Niederau (Tirol) because they were there for a skiing holiday. My friend Steffi came with me and so we arrived there at 9 in the morning… Neil and his girlfriend joined their skiing lesson and Steffi and I went on the slopes … back for lunch with our UK friends and then 2 more hours of skiing (and boarding for Steffi) After their lessons ended they had a quick shower and we drove to Innsbruck where we met Peter downtown for a quick tour of sightseeing at the „golden roof“ – the tour was really quick because temperatures were about -15 Celsius.

Just the right temperature for having dinner at Buzi Hütte – a very traditional place on the foothills of the mountains. I think „septic bump“ (a typical austrian Schnitzel with weird filling), the beer and the „Topfenpalatschinken“ (no way that I can explain this … it is some kind of filled pancake …) were just the right thing to finish of the day. Picture of Neils visit will be coming soon …

Just a couple of days later I went skiing with my Dad, Frauke and my sister Hannah. A wonderful Saturday afternoon with plenty of sunshine and empty slopes it was. Thats the way I like it – here is a picture of this afternoon see yourself! (low quality because made with mobile phone...)
