Jazzkeller

Some of you might know that I am going out once in a while and that I enjoy nightlife. But yesterday I had the honor to be taken to a unique bar, the 'Jazzkeller'. Obviously a bar that is only open on Friday nights (and on request for private parties). Located right next door to me in the cellar of a normal appartment building right in the center of downtown.
No sign, no name on it - so you must know it to go there, can´t drop in there accidentally. The girl I was going out with is or was a regular in there ... so she knew. We went there at about 3.30 in the morning and had to give the barkeeper a phone call to let us in. What happened then was just amazing: go downstairs and enter a bar with about 4 rooms, low ceiling, you have to get out of your shoes, no chairs, everybody sitting on the floor, pillows all around, warm light, people standing at the bar ... and ... excellent music.
I was really overwhelmed by the relaxed atmosphere ... everything easy. So we had a drink, had a toast (very important at that time in the morning ...) and had a good chat with the people at the bar. I think it was about 4.30 when the bar keeper decided that it was about time to close. What did he do? Just told the people. And what happened? No moaning, nobody getting nasty ... everybody finished his drink, got up, got the stuff with the shoes sorted and cued to get out of the cellar. Yes, the cued. Once let out we were in the staircase of the house. What happened? Yes, everybody kind of cued again to be let out into the street. Amazing ... all sorted and disciplined. Weird ... believe me! So ... 4.35, the end of a brilliant evening with barefoot bar visits and cueing.
