Holiday Vol. 2

Yeah - the second holiday report. As mentioned before I went to Berlin for a couple of days. And as I expected I had a great time up there.
The night before I left Olli and Sylvia came to Salzburg and slept at my place because they flew on a one week holiday in Turkey the next day. So I picked up their tickets, organised a free ticket for long time parking at the airport (... thx to rob!) and put a bottle of white wine into the fridge. Had a nice evening at my place and got up early and went to the airport together. My plane arrived at
9:30 in Berlin Tegel and because Birgit was a couple of minutes late I had to wait for her at the bus stop. And - I did not believe I bumped into a guy that I had met about 3 years ago in Mondsee. I did not really remember him but he did remember my face. He was in Berlin for a short visit from Norway - having a break from his year abroad.

Birgit and I dropped of my bag at her flat, grabbed the bikes and went for a coffee, had a long chat (we hadn´t seen us for ages), had sushi for lunch and met Markus at the Beach-bar which is fantastic artifical sand beach on the shore of river Spree for a drink. Back at the flat (which was located right in the middle of Berlin on Oranienburgerstrasse) we met Moritz. Next stop was the italian restaurant "Due forni" where we had some great italian pizza and salad that we had to cut ourselves. Birgit, Moritz, Katharina, Julia and myself joined the pizza party. And ... after some italian pizza we thought we had deserved some ice cream.
(the ice cream team: moritz, birgit, julia and katharina)
And of course we deserved some drinks too. I love those bars and pubs in Berlin that are so unconventional ... the bar were we had our drink had sofas on the sidewalk. A great place to hang around.

After that night we had to sleep long on Saturday ... and in the end we were on holidays! At about lunch time we headed for the museum called Hamburger Bahnhof that currently displays Warhol, Richard Jackson and parts of the Flick collection. The pic of me that you can see below was shot by myself on a swivel chair in a room with a video installation. So this is the disappearing Wolf:

At night we were invited to join a farewell barbecue party of one of Jörg´s friends. So we thought of what we could bring to the party. The result: fantastic melon punch and a crazy but great noodle salad served in a melon as well. The barbecue took place in the park right in front of Jörg´s appartment. About 30 people showed up to join the party and it was great to meet the girlfriend of Jörg, Carina for the first time.

And of course the guys I knew before were also there: Micha, Olli, Strübi and Gordon. Around 1:30 a.m. we thought that a good night needs some good daiquiris. So we went to a bar in the park that was called 'Soul explosion' where Strawberry Daiquiris were served for incredible 3 €!
On Sunday we joined Jörg and the others for a trip to Ruhlsdorfer See where we spent a great afternoon on a sandy beach. Just relax and swim. Moritz and Gordon took it serious and went waterskiing ... good fun! On our way home we stopped at Wandlitz See (don't ask me where it is exactly ... somewhere on the way from Ruhlsdorfer See to Berlin *g*) and had dinner at an italian restaurtant before arriving completely exhausted at Oranienburgerstrasse. We were that tired that we did not manage to go out again ... unfortunately that meant that I did not see Markus again - who did not make it to the lake.
Well ... so I left on monday morning ... with about 15 kg of luggage that I took back to Salzburg for Birgit. Thanks for a great stay at Berlin!
